Emilie & Krishna’s Wedding

We contacted Chef Gabriella after a few disappointing encounters with vegan and gluten free wedding cakes. We were definitely not disappointed here! Gabriella was a joy to work with. We met her on a Saturday morning and she had four glorious mini cakes prepared for us to try. It was clear from the moment we began talking and tasting hat she cares wholeheartedly about making food that is good for the earth, meets the dietary needs of her clients, and most of all is delicious. She wanted to make us a cake we would love. On the day of the wedding, Gabriella & Mal showed up right on time to deliver the cake. They checked in with me to make sure it was where we wanted it and wished us a fabulous day. We ordered a three tier traditional wedding cake with scroll work and a contrasting color around the bottom of the layers, which Gabriella created to match a family heirloom I was wearing on the wedding day. We ordered a lemon cake with passion fruit filling and fresh strawberries. The other layers were chocolate with fresh raspberry and white chocolate filling, one being gluten free. All three were outstanding, and many guests went back for more! My husband’s father, a long-time vegan from Portland, Oregon (a mecca of vegan baking and eating) raved that the cake was “incomparable” and was the best vegan cake he had ever eaten! Two weeks later, a family friend who is not even close to vegan gushed about the perfect lemon cake. When I told him it was vegan, he was totally shocked and continued to talk about how perfect it was! I would recommend Gabriella & Mal from AMOR to absolutely anyone. The taste and quality is amazing, and Gabriella was very responsive and open. If you want a cake baker who cares about food and cares about the experience they create for you, these are the folks to work with!
